They say Detroit has become a very scary place.

100 bus drivers in Detroit recently refused to drive their routes out of fear of being attacked on the streets.

The head of the bus drivers union, Henry Gaffney, said that the drivers were literally "scared for their lives".

When people feel as though they have lost everything, they get desperate.

And desperate people do desperate things.
