Will the Great Tribulation start in 2012?

Well, it seems so.

In France, the left-wing opposition won an historic victory in senatorial elections Sunday, according to France 24.

This is a serious blow to center-right leader President Nicolas Sarkozy seven months before he is to seek re-election.

The Socialist Party announced that, with its Communist and Green allies, it had won enough seats to take control of the upper house for the first time in modern French history.

Unemployment remains high and France's financial sector has found itself under attack on the markets.

I don't believe in socialism or in nationalism, but I understand the French voters who want political change, because of all the social problems.

But next year there will not only be Presidential elections in France and in the U.S.

In Russia, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin says he has accepted a proposal to stand for President in March 2012.

The book of Revelation speaks of two beasts, where the first beast is Russia, see Revelation 13:1.

The seven heads and seven horns, are the seven General Secretaries of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union: Lenin, Stalin, Chrustjev, Breznev, Andropov, Chernenko, and Gorbachev.

The three horns which follow are the Russian Presidents: Jeltsin, Putin, and Medvedev.

Now we have come to the end of the line and the return of Christ.

But, unfortunately, there will be seven years with the Antichrist first.

Dmitry Medvedev took over as Russian President in 2008.

"The task of the government is not only to pour honey into a cup, but sometimes to give bitter medicine", Mr. Putin said.

According to the book of Daniel 9:26, the Temple will be rebuilt in Jerusalem.

But there will be wars which will destroy the Temple and Jerusalem.

And then the flood will come.

There will be a peace deal in the Middle East which will precede the sudden destruction.

Now we witness the beginning of sorrows.

We are watching the prophesied events happening today; growing populations, falling energy sources, and food shortages.

But Jacob's trouble is about the attack on Israel and the West, compare with Jeremiah 30:7 and Revelation 12:17.

Jerusalem will be divided, and the surviving people in the Jewish part of the city will be taken into captivity, according to Zechariah 14:2, and compare with Ezekiel 5:12.

The whole land of Israel will be brimstone, salt, and burning, according to Deuteronomy 29:23.

There is massive work for God's Two Witnesses and their scribes, which urgently needs to be done.

With the second coming of Christ, the "times of the Gentiles" will at last come to an end.
