Sweden Trotter Iceland Wins Elitloppet
Non enim erubesco evangelium: virtus enim Dei est in salutem omni credenti, Iudaeo primum et Graeco. (Romans 1:16)
Iceland led from the start and won the Elitloppet trotting classic at Solvalla Raceway on Sunday, according to Yahoo! News.
The 6-year-old horse, driven by Johnny Takter, built a big lead and then held off last year's winner Torvald Palema for the victory in Europe's most prestigious harness race.
The victory was worth 3 million Swedish kronor or $382.000.
I congratulate Iceland's trainer Stefan "Tarzan" Melander for this brilliant victory.
Stefan Melander has now won every major race.
Iceland's father Scarlet Knight won the Hambletonian, Gigant Neo won Prix d'Amérique - and now Iceland won Elitloppet.
"Audituri autem estis proelia et opiniones proeliorum. Videte, ne turbemini, oportet enim haec fieri, sed nondum est finis", Matthew 24:6.
