Brussels Wants Smoking Ban Across Europe

The European Commission on Tuesday (30 June) called on member states to boost their non-smoking legislation in order to move towards a "smoke free" EU by 2012, reports Elitsa Vucheva in EUobserver.

The commission is suggesting the bloc's 27 member states agree smoking in "enclosed public places, workplaces and public transport" be banned by 2012, while children's exposure to tobacco should be specifically tackled and "efforts to give up tobacco use and pictorial warnings on tobacco packages" should be encouraged.

According to commission estimates, 25 percent of cancer deaths and 15 percent of total deaths in the EU can be attributed to smoking.

Last year alone, 6.000 people died in the EU just from "workplace exposure to tobacco smoke", including 2.500 non-smokers, it says.

EU health commissioner Androulla Vassiliou said: "It is my firm belief that each and every European merits full protection from tobacco smoke. There is a wave of support from the general public and we will work with member states to make this a reality".

According to a recent Eurobarometer survey, around 32 percent of the bloc's citizens currently smoke, with the proportion being highest in Greece (42%), Bulgaria (39%), and Latvia (38%).

Simultaneously, a large majority of Europeans favor smoking ban in the workplace (84%), restaurants (79%), as well as also bars, clubs, and pubs (65%).

Vassiliou said: "We have come a long way since the time smoking was considered glamorous".

Vassiliou praised the UK and Ireland for being the two only member states where a full smoking ban has been introduced for all work and public places, adding that Bulgaria is to follow suit in 2010.

In eight other member states – Italy, Malta, Sweden, Latvia, Finland, Slovenia, France, and the Netherlands – there is legislation banning smoking at work and in public places, but allowing for special enclosed smoking rooms.

"Nobody pretends that smoking is a good thing, but it is legal", said UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom.

Mr Bloom added: "These bullies seem to have no truck with freedom, liberty, or tolerance. Well in that case we shall have to take it back. And if that means a certain level of civil disobedience, well so be it".

Like Mr Bloom I agree freedom is very important.

However, public health is equally very important, and 2.500 non-smokers, who died last year in the EU just from "workplace exposure to tobacco smoke" is a significant amount of people.

I suggest cigar smoking should be allowed at race tracks, because that's part of the sport. Otherwise there will be no horse raceing to go to.

Leviathan Or Behemoth Found?

Tu confregisti capita Leviathan, dedisti eum escam monstris maris. (Psalms 74:14)

In Job chapter 41, Leviathan is presented as an abominable creature - and "his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning" - which no man can defeat, only God:

"Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook?...Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron...He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood".

Isaiah 27:1 prophesied: "In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea".

But according to Psalms 74:14, Leviathan is already crushed, and was given as food in the wilderness.

Isaiah 14:12 compares Leviathan to Lucifer and the Antichrist, the serpent of old, see Revelation 12:9.

Extraordinary images from Google Earth confirm Biblical accounts if verified.

The skeletal remains of the legendary sea serpent, Leviathan, or if it is Behemoth, since it has been found at the mountains, is many times larger than any skeleton ever discovered before, and lies one mile from the base of Jabal Al Lawz in Saudi Arabia.

Jabal Al Lawz is a mountain that some believe is the Biblical Mount Sinai.

Leviathan's, or Behemoth's, size is indeed enormous, extending 1.900 feet from head to tail.

Leviathan is prominent in Messianic literature in connection with the advent of Christ.

But since Leviathan was a female monster who lived in the ocean, maybe what has been found could be the male called Behemoth, because Behemoth lived east of the garden of Eden.

Of Behemoth it is said: "Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play", see Job 40:20.

Leviathan is often used as a symbol of the enemies of Israel, and represents the climax of the destruction of everything that threatens Israel.

Leviathan may have had 7 heads, compare with the first beast of Revelation 13:1.

But the second beast of Revelation 13:11, makes an allusion to Behemoth.

"Et proiectus est draco ille magnus, serpens antiquus, qui vocatur Diabolus et Satanas, qui seducit universum orbem; proiectus est in terram, et angeli eius cum illo missi sunt", Revelation 12:9.

Margot Wallström: Swedish EU Presidency "Must Promote Women's Rights"

Non est enim personarum acceptio apud Deum. (Romans 2:11)

The First Vice President of the European Commission, Margot Wallström, told TheParliament.com, Sweden must use its six-month EU Presidency to showcase best practice on gender equality issues.

I agree. Sweden is a more equal country than most other countries in Europe.

Wallström told TheParliament.com she was confident women's rights would be high on the agenda when Sweden takes over the rotating Presidency on Wednesday.

Wallström said: "Sweden already has a good reputation when it comes to fighting for gender equality, so I really hope that they will keep it up".

Wallström continued: "It's a golden opportunity to showcase what are good and best practices in Sweden but also to support the case for women in Europe".

Wallström is correct.

The differences on many issues are huge between different countries in Europe.

I came back to Sweden from southern Belgium in the midst of April, after nine years there, so I have seen the difference.

In the Belgian region I used to live in, 58 percent of women are unemployed.

Why should so many women, more than half of the work force, be unemployed compared to men in certain countries?

When a couple have a child in Sweden, the parents have 480 days here to share for leave, and paid to a high degree, to be with the child.

But the leave must be shared between the parents, so that one parent gets at least 60 days with his child.

When I got my daughter in Belgium in 2001, my right there was three days of parental leave. Nowadays they have changed it to ten days there.

My friends in Sweden got at least 60 days, when they became fathers.

That's just an example.

When it comes to Members of Parliament, Judges, Attorneys, Medical Doctors, Pastors and Bishops in the Swedish Church, you will find more or less equal representation of men and women in Sweden.

If we want Europe to develop, we cannot, like in certain countries and regions, have two thirds of women unemployed, doing nothing.

Why should men do all the work?

And why should women be without money?

Women and men are different, that's true, but there are still lots of things which we can improve through politics.

"Non est masculus et femina; omnes enim vos unus estis in Christo Iesu", Galatians 3:28.

Tunguska Mystery Solved

The Tunguska mystery has been solved.

It was a comet, not a UFO, that leveled 830 square miles of Siberian forest in 1908, according to Whitley Strieber's Unknown Country.

NASA scientists have verified this by studying the exhaust plume from the NASA space shuttle launched a century later.

Engineer Michael Kelley was able to connect the two events by what followed each one about a day later: brilliant, night- visible clouds, or noctilucent clouds, that are made up of ice particles and only form at very high altitudes and in extremely cold temperatures.

The researchers contend that the massive amount of water vapor spewed into the atmosphere by the comets icy nucleus was caught up in swirling eddies with tremendous energy by a process called two-dimensional turbulence, which explains why the noctilucent clouds formed a day later many thousands of miles away.

Michael Kelley, the James A. Friend Family Distinguished Professor of Engineering at Cornell, who led the research team, said: "It's almost like putting together a 100-year-old murder mystery. The evidence is pretty strong that the Earth was hit by a comet in 1908".

Previous speculation had ranged from comets to meteors.

It's finally thanks to space shuttle science we have learned how the 1908 Tunguska explosion was caused by a comet.

The importance of space science cannot be overestimated.

"Et quintus angelus tuba cecinit. Et vidi stellam de caelo cecidisse in terram, et data est illi clavis putei abyssi", Revelation 9:1.

Why Must The Third Temple Be Built?

Facientque mihi sanctuarium, et habitabo in medio eorum. (Exodus 25:8)

Why will the Third Temple be built in Jerusalem, and who will build it?

Chaim Clorfene asks: "Will the Messiah Build the Third Temple?".

We know that the Third Temple will be built in Jerusalem, see Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:4, and Revelation 11:1.

Actually the Bible tells us it is the people of Israel who will build the Third Temple, see Exodus 25:8.

"Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD", see Zechariah 2:10.

Byt why will the Third Temple be built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem?

Jack Kelley has some ideas about the Church Age, which he calls The Great Pause in Bible Prophecy Today.

A question is asked: Why on Earth, would God bring Israel back to its land, when the Church has replaced Israel?

The answer is that the Church never replaced Israel, as it is written:

"Hath God cast away his people? God forbid...God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew", see Romans 11:1 - 2.

The Church Age is also an Age of Law, because the New Testament was given as the New Law, see Matthew 5:18, 2 Corinthians 3:9, and Hebrews 8:6 - 7, 13, which replaces large portions of the Old Testament Law.

Near the end of Israel's captivity in Babylon, the Angel Gabriel told Daniel that Israel was being given 490 years to bring in everlasting righteousness.

"Seventy weeks (490 years) are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy", see Daniel 9:24.

When Jesus Christ our Lord was crucified, 483 of those 490 years had past.

Christ told His disciples the Temple soon would be destroyed, see Matthew 24:2, and they were astonished, because they thought they were only seven years away from the Kingdom Age.

"And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and His disciples came to him for to shew Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down", see Matthew 24:1 - 2.

40 days after the Resurrection, Christ's disciples asked Jesus: "Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the Kingdom to Israel?", see Acts 1:6.

Ten days later, on Pentecost, the indeterminate Age of the Church began, with the Age of Israel still seven years short of its prophesied end.

After 20 years had passed the Lord’s half-brother James, who was the head of the Church in Jerusalem at the time, explained that Israel had been set aside for awhile to take out of the Gentiles a people for His name - the Church.

After that Christ would turn again to Israel and pick up where He had left off:

"After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things", see Acts 15:16 - 17.

The Lord’s promise still stands.

After the next and last Pope there will be no more Catholic Church, and the Protestant Churches will also disappear, since their Scriptural raison d'être will have disappeared.

But Latin will make a comeback as lingua franca.

And every inch of the Biblical land of Israel will be returned to the Jews.

The Church Age is about to end, and Jesus Christ will let Israel complete the last seven years, and with the Third Temple standing on the Temple Mount.

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ", see Titus 2:13.

When the Levitical Priesthood and the Temple in Jerusalem is restored to full glory, Christ shall reign from the Throne of his father David over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his Kingdom there shall be no end, see Luke 1:32 - 33.

The purpose of the Church Age was so Christ, our God, could take from among the Gentiles a people for Himself.

This is why "blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in", see Romans 11:25.

According to John 14:2 - 3 our destination is Heaven. This has several meanings.

Both our current location and this great planet Earth is our cradle, but not our final destination.

One day we will be able to travel at the speed of light, and have everlasting life.

Some call it the Rapture, the great resurrection, see 1 Thessalonians 4:16 - 17.

The Two Witnesses will experience a form of Rapture: "And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them", see Revelation 11:12.

There will be wars against evil dictators, and also even more terrible wars against extraterrestrials will ensue.

We will fight wars for another 8.000 years on our planet, see Revelation 2:10.

Technological advancement is very important.

We humans will constantly live under the threat of total extermination, because we are God's chosen and made in His image.

There will come a flood, as in the days of Noah, see Matthew 24:37.

And fire and brimstone will rain from heaven, as in the days of Lot, see Luke 17:29.

Both Heaven and Earth will one day pass away, see 24:35.

But what is important is the future, that we keep together in unity, so that life can go on, and that people can live and let live.

On July 1st, Sweden assumes the Presidency of the European Union.

We must fight for and support Israel.

"And so all Israel shall be saved", see Romans 11:26.

Sweden gives rest to the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ, and compare with Zechariah 6:8.

"Et si abiero et praeparavero vobis locum, iterum venio et accipiam vos ad me ipsum, ut ubi sum ego, et vos sitis", John 14:3.

President Obama: America's Neville Chamberlain

Dixit Dominus Domino meo: "Sede a dextris meis, donec ponam inimicos tuos scabillum pedum tuorum". (Matthew 22:44)

Just as Prime Minister Chamberlain going home to England, basically said that Hitler was a great man offering peace in our time, so President Obama now says Islam is great, forgetting that the 9/11 hijackers were Muslims.

Of course many Nazis were great too, just as many Muslims are great.

But eventually the Americans, just like Churchill, realized that Nazism was something bad, which had to be dealt with.

It is the same thing with Islam.

Germans and Austrians are great people, just like Iranians and Arabs.

But Nazism is a bad ideology just like Islam.

And what we must deal with today is Islam.

American President Obama has nevertheless proven himself to be completely incompetent in dealing with Islam.

But those who perpetrated 9/11 will continue to shout "Death to America" and next Muslim attack against America, which is coming, will be devastating.

It was only pure luck the White House and the Pentagon not was destroyed during 9/11.

Next time the Americans wont be that lucky.

President Obama mentions the Iranian taking of American hostages in the same breath as he mentions the overthrow of Iran's government by America in 1953.

President Obama seems to compare WWII and the overthrow af the Iranian government in 1953, with recent takings of American hostages and 9/11.

But there is one important difference, and that is President Obama's denial that 9/11 and the taking of American hostages is something which happens in the present.

America and the Western world learned the hard way, that appeasement was a foolish delusion, and Nazism eventually was defeated.

But President Obama has not defeated Islam, and he is incompetent to do so.

Someone else will do that.

Instead U.S. military put their efforts in burning Bibles in Afghanistan.

And in his speech in Cairo recently, President Obama said: "I've come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles".

So because President Obama now has made the principles of Islam, the principles of the U.S., he condemns Israel for constructing houses in Jerusalem, but is at the same time incapable to deal with the threats against America, coming from Iran's ally: North Korea.

It is a sad experience, in the aftermath of all the thousands of dead in the World Trade Center, to listen to President Obama declaring that the U.S. and the Muslims share common principles.

Now President Obama has betrayed the Iranian protest movement, and this is also very tragic.

The war on terror is war on Islam.

The only difference between President Obama and Neville Chamberlain is, Chamberlain had America to save his bacon and that of the rest of the world.

But President Obama has no one to ride in to save his or ours.

How North Korea could get this far with their nuclear arms program is completely beyond my understanding.

President Bush did nothing to stop it, and President Bush only spoke about war on terror - never on war with Islam.

That is why President Obama is President of the U.S. today, sharing in common principles with the 9/11 terrorists.

There Is Too Little Religion In Politics

Quis autem vestrum cogitans potest adicere ad staturam suam cubitum unum? (Matthew 6:27)

"And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on", see Luke 12:22.

We have a serious problem in the modern Western world.

The problem is not that there is too much politics in religion.

The problem is rather that there is too little religion in politics.

There are many reasons for religion falling inte disrepute.

One reason is misapplication of the Bible by fallible man, versus proper application of the Koran by its adherents.

Why spend your life worrying, when the Bible gives you comfort and hope in a troubled world?

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God", see Philippians 4:6.

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me", see John 14:1.

"Omnem sollicitudinem vestram proicientes in eum, quoniam ipsi cura est de vobis", 1 Peter 5:7.

Iranian Cleric Urges Executing Protesters

Non est masculus et femina; omnes enim vos unus estis in Christo Iesu. (Galatians 3:28)

Ayatollah Ahmed Khatami calls on Tehran's supreme leader to order protest leaders be punished "without mercy", since they are "at war with God", according to Ynetnews.

Khatami said those who disturbed the peace and destroyed public property were "at war with God" and should be "dealt with without mercy".

Amnesty International called the prospect of quick trials and capital punishment for some detainees "a very worrying development".

It said Iran was the world's No. 2 executioner after China last year, with at least 346 known instances of people put to death.

Iranian law considers boys eligible for the death penalty at age 15 and girls at age 9.

The group also called on the regime to release dozens of detained journalists it said faced possible torture.

Ann Harrison, an Iran researcher at Amnesty said: "Khatami's call for harsh penalties and even death for those who are found to have defied the Islamic system is certainly an attempt to instill fear in people".

The Iranian Priest says in other words, that because he is God, to oppose him is to oppose God, and merit death.

I am appalled.

"Si ergo Filius vos liberaverit, vere liberi eritis", John 8:36.

Iranian Embassy In Stockholm Stormed

Addixistis, occidistis iustum. Non resistit vobis. (James 5:6)

I think it is very important that Iran gets a peaceful regime, which every Iranian can be proud of.

The Local reports Iran's official news agency, IRNA, described a protest outside the Iranian embassy in Stockholm on Friday as a "terrorist attack" after around 100 protesters stormed the compound and a staff member was injured.

Iran summoned Swedish Ambassador Magnus Werndstedt following the incident.

"Following the terrorist attack by anti-revolutionary groups on Iran's embassy in Stockholm on Friday, the Swedish ambassador was summoned immediately", the IRNA report said.

The employee, whose nationality was not known, was hurt when protesters entered the compound and attacked him, according to Stockholm police.

He was punched and kicked and received medical attention at the embassy.

The protest outside the Iranian embassy in Stockholm broke out on Friday afternoon.

Around 150 demonstrators, some of them wearing masks, began throwing rocks and trying to break into the embassy.

"People were yelling chants and cheers at the Iranian embassy for about an hour, and then about an hour later around 100 of the protesters entered the embassy compound through a gate", Massood Mafan, a witness at the scene, told news agency TT.

Mafan said: "In the building itself they were stopped by guards".

Mafan said that he had seen at least three people who were injured, including an older woman who was hit in the back with a nightstick.

The three to four police offers who were initially at the scene couldn't stop the protesters from storming the embassy. Around 20 patrol cars were later dispatched to the scene.

Janne Hedlund, commander on duty at the Stockholm police said: "It was a little chaotic out there. We have had demonstrations there for several days and it has been extremely calm. But (then) they started to put on masks and throw rocks and try to break into the compound".

By 6:30 pm the situation outside the embassy was calm. Between 150 and 200 people remained outside yelling chants.

"We are here because we demand that Sweden shut down the embassy and suspend all relations with Iran", Mohammad Mohammad Bagheri, 29, told TT.

Ulf Höglund of the Stockholm police said the number of protesters inside the compound remains unconfirmed. Two people have been arrested on suspicion of vandalism.

According to police, there is no information about injured protesters, but one woman showed bruises she claimed were from a baton.

Our fine Swedish police has more important things to do, than to protect uncivilized regimes and their murderers, who kill their own citizens.

"Tunc dicet et his, qui a sinistris erunt: 'Discedite a me, maledicti, in ignem aeternum, qui paratus est Diabolo et angelis eius' ", Matthew 25:41.

Holy Ark Of The Covenant To Be Revealed Later

Non enim est occultum, quod non manifestetur, nec absconditum, quod non cognoscatur et in palam veniat. (Luke 8:17)

If initial reports were to be believed, the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia, Abune Paulos, would have unveiled the Ark of the Covenant by now, according to the Ethiopian site Nazret.

But Paulos is now said to have said: "I am not here to give evidence that the Ark is in Ethiopia, but I am here to say what I saw, what I know and I can testify. I did not say that the Ark will be shown to the world".

Well, without Jesus I would have felt worried.

Paulos said namely a couple of days ago: "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries".

But now we need to worry for nothing, see John 14:27, because Jesus Christ is our God of comfort and happiness.

Apparently the Ethiopian Patriarch has been terrorized into silence.

Well, the Ark of the Covenant will be shown to the world soon, anyway, because it is written: "And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament", see Revelation 11:19.

"Quod oculus non vidit, nec auris audivit, nec in cor hominis ascendit, quae praeparavit Deus his, qui diligunt illum", 1 Corinthians 2:9.

The Vatican Reminds Me Of The Iranian Government

In an article in the National Catholic Reporter, which The Curt Jester deals with, a Catholic defends the Iranian regime's brutality and compares the Catholic Church with the Iranian regime.

The article starts saying: "For me I will stick with the Pope and his charism of infallibility".

The article continues: "The problems with their reformers is that they forget that reform starts with themselves...If you want to reform the Church - grow in holiness".

Then democracy is slammed: "Democracy is not a good model when it comes to eternal truth. The Church is not a human institution or else the Gates of Hell would have been wide open".

Apparently the writer forgets that God is both Human and Divine.

We are asked: "Why is it so difficult, I wonder, for absolute religious leaders to listen to the sensus fidelium (the sense of the faithful), or to change?".

The article continues: "Maybe it has something to do with the word "absolute". So why does absolute get scare quotes. What is wrong with the word absolute? A truth of the faith that can change is not a truth. I thank God for the Absolute and to paraphrase G.K. Chesterton that what is true on Monday is still true on Wednesday".

Then we are asked again: "What can we expect from people who think an all male Priesthood is a violation of gender equality?".

It concludes: "It is hard to argue with people whose theological thoughts are so simplistic and based on the ERA and not based on sacred scripture or sacred tradition. If they would stop whining about celibacy and start praying for men to answer their vocation we might get somewhere".

I think it is insulting of Catholics to compare this kind of misguided ideal to men and women dying on the streets of Iran.

Besides, both celibacy and exclusive male Priesthood goes against Scripture, see 1 Timothy 3:2 and Galatians 3:28.

Thus these absolute and undemocratically Catholic ideals are not based upon truth or justice.

This is also an insult to the brave Iranians who are risking their lives right now.

And no one is forced to remain in a Church they don't agree with or regard as unjust. But in Iran people have no choice.

Next Pope will be the last Pope.

The time of the Catholic Church is over.

Deal with it!

In Sweden protesters broke into Iran's Embassy in Stockholm Friday, to protest against Iran's leaders, police said.

Furious Christians will one day similarly show their frustration with the Vatican.

The Ark Of The Covenant Will Be Unveiled Today

The Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia, Abune Paulos, says he will announce to the world today Friday, the unveiling of the Ark of the Covenant, according to WorldNetDaily.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Patriarch says the Ark of the Covenant has been hidden away in a Church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

Abuna Paulos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency: "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries".

The announcement is expected to be made at 2 P.M. Italian time from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome.

Paulos will reportedly be accompanied by Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Sellassie and Duke Amedeo D'Acosta.

Paulos said: "The Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia for many centuries". As a Patriarch I have seen it with my own eyes and only few highly qualified persons could do the same, until now".

According to Paulos, the actual Ark has been kept in one Church, but to defend the treasure, a copy was placed in every single Church in Ethiopia.

He said a museum is being built in Axum, Ethiopia, where the Ark will be displayed.

A foundation of D'Acosta will fund the project.

The Ark of the Covenant is the sacred container of the Ten Commandments as well as Aaron's rod and a sample of manna, the mysterious food that kept the Israelites alive while wandering in the wilderness during their journey to the Promised Land.

The Bible says the Ark was built to the specifications of God as He spoke to Moses.

It was carried in advance of the people and their army by Levitical Priests.

It was also carried in a seven-day procession around the walled city of Jericho.

The idea that the Ark is presently in Ethiopia is a well-documented, albeit disputed, tradition dating back to at least 642 B.C.

The tradition says it was moved to Elephantine Island in Egypt, then to Tana Kirkos Island in Ethiopia, and finally to its present site at St. Mary's of Zion Church in Axum.

Ethiopians believe it is destined to be delivered to the Messiah when He reigns on Mount Zion - the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Jeremiah 3:16 points to a time when the Ark will vanish not only physically, but from the minds of the people: "And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more".

The Book of Revelation says the Ark is in the temple of God in heaven, see Revelation 11:19.

Muslim scholars say it will be found near the end of times by the Mahdi - a messianic figure in Islam.

The Ethiopians have long claimed to have the Ark of the Covenant.

If the Ark of the Covenant indeed is unveiled, the Two Witnesses, believed by the Ethiopians to be Enoch and Elijah, will be raised up.

Bl. Dionysus of Luetzenberg prophecies:

"After the discovery of the Ark of the Covenant, Enoch and Elias will restore the Holy Sacrament of the Altar; Because of the fact that the Ark of the Covenant will be in the possession of the two Holy Prophets and not in Antichrist’s hands, the Jews will recognize that Jesus is the true Messias…".

It is interesting that the Muslims believe that their Mahdi will rise up too after the finding of the Ark.

The Mahdi of Islamic prophecy seems to be the same one that the Bible indicates will be the final King of the South.

Since both Islamic and Catholic prophecies suggest that the Ark of the Covenant will be found, it is possible that some of them will point to the Ark in Ethiopia as proof that their prophecies are to be fulfilled.

However, only Levites are supposed to touch the Ark, see 2 Samuel 6:1 - 7, everybody else will die, like Uzzah, a non-Levite who touched the Ark and died.

"Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever", see 1 Chronicles 15:2.

Maybe this is why the next Catholic Pope will be the last one - Petrus Romanus - because Christ also promised that the end-time Elijah the Tishbite would come and restore all things, including the Levitical Priesthood, compare with Matthew 17:11, and Matthew 27:47, 49.

Yahoo! News reports President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused President Barack Obama on Thursday of behaving like his predecessor toward Iran and said there was not much point in talking to Washington unless the U.S. President apologized.

Obama said on Tuesday he was "appalled and outraged" by a post-election crackdown, and Washington withdrew invitations to Iranian diplomats to attend Independence Day celebrations on July 4, stalling efforts to improve ties with Teheran.

Amadinejad said: "Mr Obama made a mistake to say those things, our question is why he fell into this trap and said things that previously (former president George W.) Bush used to say".

Ahmadinejad said: "Do you want to speak with this tone? If that is your stance then what is left to talk about? I hope you avoid interfering in Iran's affairs and express your regret in a way that the Iranian nation is informed of it".

In what appeared to be further evidence of the government's determination to crush resistance, 70 professors were detained after meeting Moussavi, his website said on Thursday.

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said it was wrong to blame the outside world for the troubles in Iran.

Miliband said: "I think the truth is that there is a crisis of credibility between the Iranian government and their own people. It's not a crisis between Iran and America or Iran and Britain, however much the Iranian government wants to suggest that".

Hundreds of students have been butchered in the streets of Iran these last couple of weeks, and a whole people is brutally and mercilessly crushed.

This is not over yet.

N. Korea Warns Of "Fire Shower Of Nuclear" Attacks

The Jerusalem Post reports North Korea threatened the US with a "fire shower" of nuclear attacks Thursday.

The salvo in Pyongyang's main Rodong Sinmun newspaper was the North's latest reaction to last week's summit between President Barack Obama and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.

The allies issued a joint statement committing the US to defend the South with nuclear weapons.

State-run newspapers in Pyongyang ran lengthy editorials accusing the United States of invading the country in 1950 and of looking for an opportunity to attack again.

Kim Jong-il has misruled his country so badly that famines are frequent. More than two million people died in the 90s from famines in North Korea.

Kim Jong-il is immensely cruel. He is responsible for some of the worst human rights abuses among current world leaders.

Gilad Schalit Named Honorary Citizen Of New Orleans

Marking the third anniversary of the kidnapping of Gilad Schalit by Hamas terrorists, the city of New Orleans declared the abducted IDF soldier an honorary citizen, according to The Jerusalem Post.

"Gilad's story is a symbol of the human element of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and must not be minimized as the global community strives to achieve peace in the Middle East", states the city council proclamation announcing the decision.

The move was initiated by Rabbi Uri Topolosky of Congregation Beth Israel, who petitioned the City Council through Arnie Fielkow to issue a proclamation declaring Shalit an honorary citizen, as a measure of support to him and his family.

In Israel, Noam Schalit, the father of the abducted soldier, asked all Israeli citizens to mark the moment:

"My wish, today, on the 25th of June, 2009, from every person in the state, man and woman, from children to the elderly, is to close your eyes for three minutes. For just three minutes close your eyes and wait until those minutes pass, and during that time, try to think about what my son, Gilad, has gone through, a young man who is waiting with bated breath - not just three minutes, and not just three hours, and not even just three days, but is waiting in darkness and despair, mentally and physically tortured, to regain his freedom which was taken from him three years ago".

Gilad Schalit is still alive, and let us pray he one day soon will be free, so he also will be able to see the beautiful and charming city of New Orleans.

Swedes Win The Right To Stay Topless

The Local reports women in Malmö have been given the right to bathe topless in the swimming pools of Sweden's third largest city.

The city's sports and recreation committee voted on Wednesday against a motion entitled: "Women with two-piece swimsuits ought to wear a top piece".

The committee eventually settled on the wording that "everybody should wear bathing suits" at Malmö pools, but there is no requirement for women to cover their breasts.

Political cleavages remained on view right up until Wednesday's meetings with disagreements on both the left and right sides.

Bengt Forsberg, head of the sports and recreation committee on recreation, said: "Everyone is required to have a swimsuit when visiting the city’s indoor pools and if it doesn’t cover the upper body, that’s OK too".

Forsberg added: "We don't define what bathing suits men should wear so it doesn't make much sense to do it for women. And besides, it's not unusual for men to have large breasts that resemble women's breasts".

Ragnhild Karlsson, 22, explained the womens' motives for swimming without bikini tops: "It's a question of equality. I think it's a problem that women are sexualized in this way. If women are forced to wear a top, shouldn't men also have to?".

I agree women should not be discriminated.

President Sarkozy: Burqas Are "Not Welcome" In France

Five years after France banned Muslim girls from wearing headscarves in public schools, the government has launched a probe into another Muslim garment - all-covering burqas or niqabs - that may lead to a similar injunction in public spaces, according to Beliefnet News.

The burqa or niqab - head-to-toe coverings that hide the face except for a narrow slit for the eyes - are rarities on French streets.

Nonetheless, the issue has sparked hot debate, dividing not only the center-right government but also France's estimated 5 to 6 million-strong Muslim community, Europe's largest.

President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Monday burqas are "not welcome" in France.

Fears of stigmatizing Muslims also spiked in 2004, when the government banned students from wearing "conspicuous" religious symbols to public schools.

While the legislation also covered skull caps and large crosses, which I think was stupid, much of the protests flared over the headscarves.

Banning burqas is a step in the right direction.

Rosenberg: Followers Of Jesus Christ Must Be Prepared For War

OneNewsNow reports Joel Rosenberg says the Supreme Islamic Leader Ayatollah Khamenei completely and wholeheartedly supports Ahmadinejad's radical end-times beliefs, including the President's commitment to destroy Israel and the U.S. in order to hasten the return of the Mahdi.

Rosenberg said: "Once you begin to understand who these men are that are running Iran, and that they really do believe that they've been chosen by Allah to bring about the end of the world, you realize that negotiations are not going to work. And Israelis see this; the White House doesn't, but Israelis do".

Rosenberg believes Israel is prepared to take action to avoid a second Holocaust.

Rosenberg said: "Yes, Israelis are getting themselves prepared for the possibility that they're either going to have to strike first and try to neutralize Iran's nuclear program, or they are going to take a first strike from Iran. And nobody in Israel wants to see a second Holocaust".

Rosenberg concludes followers of Jesus Christ must pray for peace but be prepared for war, just in case the Lord allows a cataclysmic battle to ensue between Israel and Iran.

The announced "landslide" victory by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the recent phony Iranian elections means that a major cataclysmic war is the likely outcome of those elections.

U.S. Rescinds July 4 Invites For Iran Diplomats

An offer for Iranian envoys to attend U.S. embassy Fourth of July Independence Day parties has been rescinded as the violent crackdown in Teheran continues, the White House said in a statement Wednesday, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs said: "Given the events of the past many days, those invitations will no longer be extended".

No Iranian diplomat had accepted an invitation from U.S. diplomatic posts abroad to attend embassy Fourth of July parties, according to the State Department.

I was afraid U.S. President Barack Obama had become a human rights charlatan, after his apologize, capitulate, and stand down foreign policy these last days.

Now the American President inspires some hope again.

But who knows, maybe President Obama will invite Ahmadinejad for coffee and donuts at the White House to seduce him into changing his genocidal ways?

David Cameron And Conservative Division In Europe

Two weeks before the elections to the European Parliament, the Swedish Conservative Party, Moderaterna, which I support, were given 30% of the votes in opinion polls

Well, they got 18% of the votes, because they sadly enough put "internet security" before integrity and freedom on the Net.

This is the main reason why we got the Pirate Party elected to the European Parliament.

But of course I am glad the Pirate Party understands the importance of freedom and integrity, and that they push for technological advancement.

But these are questions the Conservatives should work for.

Why are they neglecting them?

The Conservative movement in Europe is extremely reluctant to fight for freedom and integrity on the Net.

Why?

In many countries it is very difficult to log in to blogs, or websites outside of the own country, if they include words like bomb, terror, terrorists, or words like that.

And many video-clips often appear with a message, Can only be viewed inside the U.S., for example.

But I want to be able to communicate with people outside of my city or my country, also.

In Great Britain, the British Tory-leader, David Cameron, who has strongly impressed most of us, is now thrashing the whole Conservative movement in Europe, by leaving the Conservative group in the European Parliament, European People's Party, thus destroying Conservative unity within Europe.

That the Conservative movement as a whole, will be weakened by this in Europe, is needless to say.

The reason for this is that the British Tories are EU-sceptics, while we others are overwhelmingly in favor of the EU.

It is like if the Republicans in California and Texas said they want Conservative politics, but no U.S.A.

Where do we find Conservatives in the UK to work with now?

And one Swedish opinion poll yesterday shows that the Pirate Party gains another four percent in Sweden.

It will now be impossible to create a new government in Sweden without the Pirate Party.

And in Germany, even parlamentarians there are now defecting to the Pirate Party.

The latest development in Germany is parlamentarian Jörg Tauss.

Tauss has left the German Socialists, SPD, and he has joined the German Pirate Party.

Jörg Tauss wants no censorship of the Net.

Like in Sweden, the German Pirate Party is predicted to play an important future role in German politics.

What was a very small political party only a few weeks ago seems to double its number of members every day, or every hour in fact.

The Twitter-effect we see in Iran, is an Internet-effect, a protest storm from freedom-loving young people under 30 years old.

Every government, which has not internet integrity and freedom on the top of its agenda, will now be destroyed, thanks to the Net, and thanks to the development of technology.

The very moment U.S. Presidential Candidate John McCain revealed he never had written an email, he lost the American Presidential election.

Technological advancement at all costs will always be the most important thing in politics, and also immediately rewarded.

Reza Pahlavi - Son of Shah Of Iran, Weeping At Press Conference For Neda

The son of the late Shah of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, was Monday carrying in his breastpocket a photograph of the slain protester known as Neda, said to have been killed in the Tehran protests, according to Yahoo! News.

Reza Pahlavi said: "I have added her (Neda) to the list of my daughters. She is now forever in my pocket".

The former Crown Prince of Iran took from his left breastpocket photographs of his wife, Yasmine, and three daughters, Noor, Iman and Farah, and, in the same clutch of images, one of a veiled Neda.

A video of a blood-drenched young woman, purportedly killed in protests in Tehran, has been flashed around the world via the Internet since it was posted Saturday.

The woman, known only as Neda, has become a symbol of Iranian defiance of the country's Islamic rulers and their insistence that hardline incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won this month's Presidential election.

In a speech at the packed National Press Club in Washington, Pahlavi slammed the "brutal violence of the regime's plain-clothes thugs against unarmed people", and urged global media to continue to be "the international artery" of the Iranian protest movement.

Pahlavi said: "No one will benefit from closing his or her eyes to knives and cables cutting into faces and mouths of our young and old, or from bullets piercing our beloved 'Neda' whose only sin was the quest for freedom - no one but tyrants and their thugs".

I agree with Reza Pahlavi. We must speak out for the defenseless and innocent freedom lovers.

What happens in Iran is according to my personal reflection not only a question of bad religion, but the absolute proof that a Republic never can give people their dignity in the same way as a Monarchy can.

The revolution devours its own children.

Iran would have all to win to become a Constitutional Monarchy under Reza Pahlavi as King, where the winner of the Iranian election, Moussavi, as Prime Minister, would be able to form a government.

Shimon Peres: Iranian Regime "Forlorn And Lousy"

Israel's President Shimon Peres on Tuesday called the Iranian regime "forlorn and lousy", according to The Jerusalem Post.

President Peres said at a security prize ceremony at The Presidential Residence that the Iranian regime "is cracked and full of wounds, and the enriched uranium cannot save it".

I thought that was kind of funny to hear, in the midst of the seriousness of the matter.

President Peres added that "in elections in a democratic regime, the voting decides, but in a non-democratic regime, the counting [of the ballots] decides".

Brilliant Mr. Peres!

Well, now I'm only waiting for a substantial speech of the American President Barack Obama, concerning the situation in Iran after the elections there.

Can Third Temple Be Built Without Destroying Dome Of The Rock?

The Jerusalem Post reports a new Jewish interfaith initiative launched last week argues building the Third Jewish Temple in Jerusalem would not necessitate the destruction of the Dome of the Rock.

"God's Holy Mountain Vision" project hopes to defuse religious strife by showing that Jews' end-of-days vision could harmoniously accommodate Islam's present architectural hegemony on the Temple Mount.

Yoav Frankel, director of the initiative, said: "This vision of religious shrines in peaceful proximity can transform the Temple Mount from a place of contention to its original sacred role as a place of worship shared by Jews, Muslims and Christians".

My answer to Mr. Frankel is: Israel is your land. It belongs to the Jews. You destroy and you build whatever you want in your land.

I just hope you will allow us non-Jews to come and visit from time to time.

The Interfaith Encounter Association at the Mishkenot Shaananim's Konrad Adenauer Conference Center in Jerusalem is sponsoring the program, which includes interfaith study and other educational projects.

According to Islamic tradition, the Dome of the Rock, built in 691, marks the spot where Muhammed ascended to Heaven.

Actually Muhammed never ascended to Heaven.

What Muhammed did was that he suddenly realized the great importance of Greek democracy for the Arab people.

Alexander the Great is considered a great Prophet in Islam.

But according to Jewish tradition, Mount Moriah, now under the Dome of the Rock, is where the Temple's Holy of Holies was situated.

Until now Jewish tradition has assumed that destruction of the Dome of the Rock was a precondition for the building of the third and last Temple.

However, in an article that appeared in 2007 in Tehumin, an influential journal of Jewish law, Frankel, a young scholar, presented a different option.

His main argument is that Jewish doctrine regarding the rebuilding of the Temple emphasizes the role of a Prophet.

This Prophet would have extraordinary authority, including the discretion to specify the Temple's precise location, regardless of any diverging Jewish traditions.

Frankel considers the scenario of a Holy Revelation given to an authentic Prophet that the Temple be rebuilt on the current or an extended Temple Mount in peaceful proximity to the dome and other houses of prayer such as the Aksa Mosque and nearby Christian shrines.

However, both Muslims and Jews have expressed opposition to the initiative.

The Prophet - Elijah the Tishbite - has also declared that the Dome of the Rock must come down. And I share his opinion.

"There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down", see Matthew 24:2.

Sheikh Abdulla Nimar Darwish, founder of the Islamic Movement in Israel, said it was pointless to talk about what would happen when the Mahdi, the Muslim equivalent of the Messiah, would reveal himself.

Darwish said: "Why are we taking upon ourselves the responsibility to decide such things? Even Jews believe that it is prohibited to rebuild the Temple until the Messiah comes. So what is there to talk about. The Mahdi will decide whether or not to rebuild the Temple. If he decides that it should be rebuilt, I will go out to the Temple Mount and help carry the rocks".

Darwish warned against any attempt to rebuild the Temple before the coming of the Mahdi: "As long as there is a Muslim alive, no Jewish Temple will be built on the Temple Mount. The status quo must be maintained, otherwise there will be bloodshed".

What any Jew or Arab speaks against the Temple of God has nevertheless no value at all.

God's will be done, as it is written: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus", see Galatians 3:28.

There will unfortunately be bloodshed, but the Temple will be built, because God's will and prophesies must be fulfilled, see Revelation 11:1 - 2.

"And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein", see Revelation 11:1.

And the building of the Third Temple in Jerusalem will start, if Christ allows it, during the Swedish Presidency of the EU, the coming 6 months.

In contrast, Baruch Ben-Yosef, chairman of the Movement to Restore the Temple, made it clear that the Temple had to be built where the Dome of the Rock presently stands.

Ben-Yosef said: "Anybody who says anything else simply does not know what he is talking about. A Prophet does not have the power to change the law which explicitly states the location of the Temple".

Ben-Yosef also rejected the idea that rebuilding of the Temple had to be done by a Prophet.

Ben-Yosef said: "All you need is a Sanhedrin".

In principle Ben-Yosef is correct.

But now a Prophet is present, Elijah the Tishbite, and the Temple and the Priesthood will be restored.

But, women will have access to the Priesthood. Oh yes, with a Prophet comes change.

Mainstream Orthodox rabbis have opposed attempts to rebuild the Temple since the Mount came under Israeli control in 1967.

The Chief Rabbinate of Israel even issued a decree prohibiting Jews from entering the area due to ritual purity issues.

Let the worshippers of Jesus Christ - the only true God - worship in Spirit and sincerity, compare with John 4:22 and 1 John 5:20.

Several grassroots organizations such as the Movement to Restore the Temple, and maverick rabbis, including Rabbi Israel Ariel, head of the capital's Temple Institute and a leading member of the revived Sanhedrin led by Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, have called to take steps to renew the sacrifices on the Temple Mount and rebuild the Temple.

Sweden Braces For "Trying" EU Presidency

A week to go before Sweden takes over the helm of the EU's six-month rotating Presidency, the country's Foreign Minister, Carl Bildt, has made it clear he does not intend to waste time attempting to unblock the many bilateral disputes that currently pepper the EU's diplomatic landscape, according to EUobserver.

Bildt said: "Miracles are not on our agenda", according to The Local.

Well, if he incorporates Israel in the European Union they might be.

But it is great he is optimistic for a quick solution of the future status of Iceland which - depending on an upcoming Parliamentary debate – may submit an application in the coming months to join the EU.

Iceland's Parliamentary tradition stretches back over 1000 years, and already the great historian Snorri Sturluson accepted the Deity of Christ.

Ian Kelly said: "We're talking about all settlement activity, yes, in the area across the line".

Well, the top priority for the American administration obviously remains to stop houses to be built in Jerusalem.

Don't the Americans have more important things to do right now than to be busy harassing the Jews in Jerusalem?

U.S. Deploys Battle Group Near North Korea

The United States has deployed the aircraft carrier George Washington and its Strike Group to take up station near North Korea in advance of a planned ballistic missile launch by that nation toward Hawaii, according to Turner Radio Network.

North Korea recently test detonated a second nuclear bomb in defiance of world efforts to persuade them to stop their nuclear arms program.

North Korea also recently launched multiple long range missiles capable of reaching South Korea and Japan, in defiance of both countries security.

The missile launch toward Hawaii is scheduled for July 4.

North Korea has stated they will respond with military attacks against South Korea and Japan if any of their missiles are shot down by an outside country.

I have not heard one single statement from U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for a long long time now.

False AP Report: President Obama Did Not Say That Iran Must Respect Voters' Choice

The blog Noli Insipientium Iniurias Pati reports President Obama said the most important thing, according to AP:

President Obama said it is up to Iran to determine its own leaders but that the country must respect voters' choice.

Now it turns out President Obama said no such thing.

What President Obama actually said is that the voices of the Iranian people should be heard and respected, not their votes.

I am disappointed because I had expected to hear something else than that on this subject.

Especially now that the American President finally broke the silence concerning the bloody aftermath after the elections in Iran.

Egypt Rejects 2nd Convert's Request To Be Legally Christian

What Islam accomplishes when its religious leaders and clerics are in power, can now clearly be seen in Iran.

Iran and Egypt were great countries before Islam came to power in those countries.

They will become great nations again, when they get rid of Islam there, because they are great peoples and great cultures.

Why is the United States a great nation?

It is because the foundation was laid by Christians, and because the U.S. mainly is built by immigrants from England, France, Scandinavia, Germany and Italy.

No one can deny that.

The Christian Post reports a judge in Cairo recently rejected a request by a Muslim background believer in Egypt to legally change his religious status, marking the second time such a request was turned down in the predominantly Muslim country.

Like Mohammed Ahmed Hegazy, Maher El-Gohary said he has received death threats and has been forced into hiding because of the threats against his life.

Despite El-Gohary’s plea, however, the judge ruled Saturday one week ago that the convert to Christianity cannot legally become Christian.

El-Gohary told Compass Direct News after the ruling: "I am disappointed with what happened and shocked with the decision, because I went to great lengths and through a great deal of hardship".

According to reports, El-Gohary had submitted to the judge’s demand that he provide a baptism certificate and a letter of acceptance into the Coptic Orthodox Church.

He had to obtain the baptism certificate from Cyprus and get a letter of acceptance from the Egyptian Coptic Church.

But the judge who demanded the documents refused to accept them, saying that the Church deals with Christians not with Muslims who convert to Christianity, according to one of El-Gohary’s lawyer.

El-Gohary told Compass: "The judge asked for letters of acceptance and baptism. It was really not easy to get them, in fact it was very hard, but if he was not going to use these things, why did he ask for them in the first place? We complied with everything and got it for him, and then it was refused. What was the point of all this?".

In Egypt, a child’s official religion is based on the father’s legally recognized religion.

And an officially Muslim child cannot take Christian classes in school or openly attend Church service on Sunday.

When the child grows up, they cannot have a Christian wedding unless their religion status is Christian on their identification card.

Last year, the Egyptian Supreme Court had ruled that then 25-year-old Mohammed Hegazy could not legally change his religious status to Christianity so that his newborn daughter could grow up openly as a Christian.

According to the last update on his situation last fall, Hegazy, whose wife is also a convert to Christianity, was still in hiding along with his family even after the case had ended.

Though he wants to leave Egypt, Hegazy cannot because if he returns to his hometown to obtain passports for his family he will be killed.

In the case of El-Gohary, the Muslim background believer and his lawyer, Nabil Ghobreyal, say they plan to appeal and take the case to a higher court to fight for El-Gohary’s right to be legally recognized as a Christian.

Egypt’s population of 80 million is about 90 percent Muslim and only about 10 percent Christian.

Although the percentage of Christians in Egypt is small, the Christian population there is the largest in the Middle East.

Planned N. Korea Missile Launch Worries Hawaii Residents

Hawaii residents doubt a North Korean missile would light up the clear island sky, according to USA Today.

And Hawaii residents feel comforted by the U.S. military's missile defense systems.

But that doesn't mean they aren't worried that a long-range missile could be launched in their direction.

That would be an act of war.

Japanese media have reported the North Koreans appear to be preparing for a long-range test near July 4 - U.S. Independence Day.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has ordered additional protections for Hawaii in case a missile is launched over the Pacific Ocean.

Dan Gleason said, while walking his dog in downtown Honolulu: "The North Koreans are unbalanced and could try anything. If they do hit Honolulu, I hope it's a good shot, because I don't want to go through the aftermath".

State tourism liaison Marsha Wienert said Friday only one concerned person with a Hawaii trip planned has called the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau seeking information.

Wienert said that with Hawaii's huge military presence, no one should be afraid to travel to the islands.

Wienert added: "We believe that this is a very safe destination".

For me it is very difficult to believe that North Korea would try to reach Hawaii with a missile.

Can they be that stupid?

New Mexico Builds World's First Commercial Spaceport

BBC News has a very interesting article, confirming ground has been broken on the construction site of Spaceport America, the world's first purpose-built commercial spaceport.

Those behind the project say that it will help provide a new chapter in space exploration.

When finished in 18 months' time, the facility will house Virgin Galactic's space tourism business and other firms working in the commercial space arena.

If all goes to plan, the inaugural flight should carry Sir Richard Branson, his family and spaceship designer Burt Rutan on a sub-orbital ride within two years.

The location of the spaceport was selected for its distance from any sizable populations - only the occasional ranch and the local rattlesnakes will know it is there.

But New Mexico brings other advantages. The state proudly boasts that it has about 350 days of sun each year, meaning that unlike Nasa at Cape Canaveral, weather should not often affect launches, and the spaceport's neighbor - the White Sands missile testing range - ensures the air space overhead is already a no-fly zone.

Governor Bill Richardson said he felt that the economic benefits of positioning the state at the forefront of the burgeoning commercial space sector would lead to developments on many levels for New Mexico and build on its rich history of aviation and spaceflight.

New Mexicans are proud of their role in helping to foster scientific advancement from Von Braun's work with the V2 and Redstone rockets, to nuclear power, and the many observatories that are based here.

Fox News reveals the fate of three of nine foreigners abducted in Yemen last week is known - their bodies were found, shot execution style.

The whereabouts of the other six - including three children under the age of 6 - remain a mystery.

Terrorism experts say the crimes bear the mark of Al Qaeda, and they fear they are the handiwork of the international terror organization's No. 2 man in the Arabian Peninsula: Said Ali al-Shihri, an Islamic extremist who once was in American custody - but who was released from the U.S. detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Bizarre UFO Abductions In Australia

A rash of bizarre UFO abductions is taking place in Australia, according to io9.

The aliens seem to wear white robes or togas.

Countless people in Australia are now claiming aliens abducted them and took them to some kind of medical facility over the Blue Mountains.

George, a bank manager in Sydney, said: "What looked somewhat like a dental or baking instrument was then inserted into my backside and pulled out and put away".

We should not assume the aliens, who are fallen angels and demons, are friendly.

But there were two separate rebellions in early days.

Satan's rebellion lead to 1/3 of the angels trying to usurp God's authority, compare with Revelation 12:4.

Then came the rebellion of the watchers, the angels assigned to watch over and guard over the Earth.

The watchers came to Earth, impregnated human women, and produced giant offspring.

God then destroyed the world with a Flood to get rid of them. But it did not stop the rebellions.

Genesis 6:4 states that even after the flood some of the watchers continued to rebel against God coming to Earth.

The offspring giants never went out of existence; they just went "underground" to return later, which is now, during these last days.

UFOlogist Michael Cohen says that he is confident that the people making these kinds of reports are telling the truth.

Cohen says many of them include similar details in their stories, and few of them have had any interest in UFOs before their abduction experience.

Sydney UFO abduction accounts indicate that if you really don't want to be abducted invest in an air-conditioner or a fan.

Avoid sleeping with an open-window if possible or install bars.

Midsummer may simply refer to the period of time centered upon the summer solstice, but more often refers to specific European celebrations that accompany the actual solstice, or that take place around the 24th of June and the preceding evening.

In modern Sweden, Midsummer's Eve and Midsummer's Day (Midsommarafton and Midsommardagen) were formerly celebrated on June 23th and 24th, but since the 1950's on the Friday between June 19th and June 25th and the following Saturday.

Because Midsummer was thought to be one of the times of the year when magic was strongest, it was considered a good night to perform rituals to look into the future.

Traditionally, young people pick bouquets of seven or nine different flowers and put them under their pillow in the hope of dreaming about their future spouse.

The connection to fertility is naturally linked to the time of year. Most people in Sweden are born nine months after Midsummer.

Many young people became passionate at Midsummer, and this was accepted, probably because it resulted in more childbirths in March which was a good time for children to be born.

Midsummer is one of the only pagan holidays that are still celebrated in Europe (if not the only).

In Denmark and Norway it is referred to as the eve of St. Hans but it's only in Sweden that it has kept its original name.

Beer has always been an important part of the Midsummer celebration and it still is today.

North Korea Plans To Fire Missile Toward Hawaii

The Huffington Post reports a Japanese report said North Korea may fire its most advanced ballistic missile toward Hawaii around Independence Day - the day when the regime test-fired a long-range missile three years ago, though it failed seconds after liftoff.

The missile now being readied in the North is believed to be a Taepodong-2 with a range of up to 4.000 miles (6.500 kilometers), and would be launched from North Korea's Dongchang-ni site on the northwestern coast sometime around July 4, Independence Day in U.S., the Yomiuri newspaper said.

On Tuesday, President Barack Obama and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak met in Washington and agreed to build a regional and global "strategic alliance" to persuade North Korea to dismantle all its nuclear weapons.

In a rare move, leaders of Russia and China used their meetings in Moscow on Wednesday to urge the North to return to nuclear talks and expressed "serious concerns" about tension on the Korean peninsula.

The joint appeal appeared to be a signal that Moscow and Beijing are growing impatient with Pyongyang's stubbornness.

Northeastern China and Russia's Far East both border North Korea, and Pyongyang's unpredictable actions have raised concern in both countries.

Continental Pilot Dies In Midflight Between Brussels And Newark

A Continental Airlines jetliner, carrying 247 passengers, has landed at Newark.

The pilot died in midflight.

The jet was en route from Brussels to Newark, according to The New York Times.

Julie King, a spokeswoman for Continental, said the captain "died in flight, apparently of natural causes".

He was 61 years old, had 21 years of service with Continental and was based in Newark, she said, adding that his family had been notified.

A medical doctor was on board the flight and pronounced the pilot dead, said Les Dorr Jr., a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The pilot was removed from the cockpit to the crew rest area.

Ms. King said that two other pilots assumed the controls.

Ms King said: "The crew on this flight included an additional relief pilot who took the place of the deceased pilot. The flight continued safely with two pilots at the controls. The company has been in touch with his family and we extend our deepest sympathies".

We should of course be happy there were other pilots aboard.

Geert Wilders: EU Is Not Israel's Friend

Geert Wilders, the head of the Dutch Freedom Party, told The Jerusalem Post a few days ago that Israel is the "only light of democracy in the Middle East" and that Islamic war was "against us all".

Geert Wilders is right.

Wilders said the European Parliament has "always been biased against Israel", and he said he regrets "that they (EU) have a foreign minister" and argued that the "European Parliament should not be involved in foreign politics".

I agree with Geert Wilders that the European Parliament unfortunately is strongly biased against Israel.

But I disagree that the European Parliament not should be involved in foreign politics.

But Mr Wilders should take up a serious discussion with Angela Merkel of Germany and Silvio Berlusconi of Italy.

Europe is a super state, and this is the kind of friend Israel needs right now.

Iran Election Results

A near record high 85 percent of Iran's 49.2 million eligible voters participated in the Iranian Presidential election which have caused so much turmoil.

Opposition members have been arrested and the press also reports students have been shot dead.

On Debbie Hamilton's blog, Right Truth, you can read: "I am afraid of real massacre while Obama and Hillary continue to remain silent".

We understand why we have this situation in Iran, if we look at the election results, which are reported by American Thinker.

Web Pioneer To Be Next U.S. Ambassador To Sweden

Matthew Barzun, a 38-year-old Internet entrepreneur, will soon be nominated to become the United States’ next ambassador to Sweden, according to The Local.

The nearly $300.000 given by Barzun and his family put him as the sixth highest contributor to Obama’s Presidential campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Before taking up residence in the posh mansion reserved for U.S. ambassadors serving in Stockholm, Barzun must still be confirmed by the U.S. Senate, a hurdle which has been known to trip up Presidential political appointments in the past.

Speculation around a possible ambassadorship for Barzun has been buzzing for months in Kentucky, where Barzun has made his home since 2001.

Mr Barzun seems to be well-qualified for the job.

Koenigsegg Buys Saab

The Local reports Saab Automobile is to be sold to Swedish sports car maker Koenigsegg.

Koenigsegg, founded in 1994 by Swedish businessman Christian von Koenigsegg, has just 45 employees and produces 18 high-end sports cars a year for more than a €1 million ($1.4 million) each.

The sale, which is expected to close by the end of the third quarter, includes an expected 600 million dollar funding commitment from the European Investment Bank, guaranteed by the Swedish government.

GM said: "General Motors Corp. and Koenigsegg Group AB, a consortium led by Koenigsegg Automotive AB, today confirmed the details of a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of Saab Automobile AB that secures Saab's future".

Swedish Enterprise Minister Maud Olofsson welcomed the news, saying it put an end to months of uncertainty about Saab's future.
