Earth-Bound Asteroid To Be Knocked Off By Russia

Vidi stellam de caelo cecidisse in terram, et data est illi clavis putei abyssi. (Revelation 9:2)

The Russian Space Agency is taking one celestial body, known as Apophis, so seriously, it is ready to launch a spacecraft to try and change Apophis' course, according to kens5.com.

The head for the Russian Space Agency, Anatoly Perminov, said in a radio interview Wednesday, the Russians look at what can be done.

Apophis is approximately the size of two-and-a-half football fields and could create a desert the size of France if it struck our planet.

The Russians are calling on The European Space Agency, China, Japan, and NASA to help.

Perminov said: "Better to spend a few hundred million dollars to create a system for preventing a collision than to wait until it happens and hundreds of thousands of people are killed".

I support Perminov's excellent inititive.

Even if Apophis misses Earth the first time, it will come back in 2068, and could hit the Earth then too.

"Et quintus angelus tuba cecinit. Et vidi stellam de caelo cecidisse in terram, et data est illi clavis putei abyssi", Revelation 9:1.
