Fort Hood's 9/11
Manifestavi nomen tuum hominibus, quos dedisti mihi de mundo. Tui erant, et mihi eos dedisti, et sermonem tuum servaverunt. (John 17:6)
On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting "Allahu Akbar!" committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11.
This was a terrorist act.
Washington Post reports prominent Muslim organizations condemn the shootings at Fort Hood.
At least that is good news, because it implies the Fort Hood massacre was the action of a disgruntled soldier, and nothing more.
I trust those US Muslim organizations, which decry Maj. Hasan's acts publicly, don't praise him privately.
I found the video above, of a soldier shot in the back, on my friend Donald Douglas's excellent blog - American Power - and the words: "It's not a tragedy, it's an act of war".
There has always been a widespread hate against the West.
It will never go away, but let us hope it will continue to be marginalized.
