Admit Israel To NATO!

Carissimi, obsecro tamquam advenas et peregrinos abstinere vos a carnalibus desideriis, quae militant adversus animam. (1 Peter 2:11)

The Brussels Journal concludes that "the new enemy of the West is ideological Islam".

Thomas Landen writes in his well-written essay: "If NATO wants to be a useful instrument in defending the West against this enemy it needs to accept a new member state – Israel".

It is not often I read articles on the net that are correct on all counts, but here Thomas Landen has created a veritable masterpiece.

Landen continues: "Today, ideological Islam has replaced Marxism as the main threat to the freedoms of the West".

Landen says that NATO’s successful past shows that it can only serve the goal to ensure that we will never be at war with Islam, by preparing itself for war against Islam.

The Belgian politician Filip Dewinter said in a recent interview that "NATO defends freedoms and democratic values characteristic of European civilization".

Dewinter continued: "Israel is an outpost of the free West in Islam-occupied territory".

This is also something US Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton should consider, when she complains that Israel does not support the Palestinian cause.

Israel can also only represent Israel.

Thomas Landen said: "If Mr. Obama wants to serve the free world he should go to Istanbul to speak out in favor of Israel’s admission to NATO".

I strongly agree with Landen on this.

NATO needs Israel, and Israel needs NATO.

It is about time Israel is admitted to NATO.
